Charles Thibodeaux Charles was born in Beaumont Texas in the early 50’s and grew up in a traditional Cajun family household. Charles’s parents were from Church Point, Louisiana and they spent many weekends visiting Louisiana while growing up. His parents spoke French around the house so that the children wouldn’t understand what they were saying. As a result, the kids learned to understand the Cajun French language. Charles often visited the Rodair Club which was owned by his late cousin Joe Thibodeaux in Port Acres Texas. It was there that he was influenced by Andrew Cormier, Rodney Lejeune, Dallas Roy, and many other famous Cajun Musicians to learn to play Cajun Music. Charles began playing accordion when he was 16 but got sidetracked away from the music for many years. In 2004, he formed a Cajun Band in Austin Texas where he performs today for private parties, crawfish boils, and festivals in various places throughout the state.
